Graduation party: probably the best time of university years.
However the discussion of the thesis has gone, it is time to celebrate the conclusion of the journey.
There are those who leave months before to organize the celebrations. It depends on what kind of person you are and your level of student spirit. To help you organize a perfect party, we thought of 10 points to follow.
DEGREE DAY: 10 POINTS TO ORGANIZE IT PERFECTLY
Guests and invitations
Make a list of the people you would like to invite. Also set on the numbers based on the budget you have available. Make sure you have Facebook contacts, phone numbers, e-mails or addresses based on the invitation you choose. You can send it in a traditional way, by email, by sms, by calling or by creating a secret event (currently the most popular option). If your budget is small, you can also leverage on your friends’ skills: surely you know a music fan or a DJ, someone who wants to take photos, someone who has a bar or knows a place to rent. Contact them and sit down together to organize. In the invitation remember to indicate date, time, place and if you want also some directions (especially for relatives, maybe on the road …). Take note of the confirmations and call those who don’t give you an answer a few days before the discussion, in order to have a fairly precise idea of the number of guests.
Location for the celebration
The search for the ideal venue depends on what you want, the number of guests and the budget you have available. You can start at around € 10 / per guest for a good quality buffet or go up to higher prices if you want to have a real meal. Try to get an idea of the place and book at least one month in advance. Consider that in the last few days you will be tense and you will certainly not have time to concentrate on the desperate search for another place if your favorite has no place (often the graduation sessions match up in the various faculties and the places nearby and the most frequented by students fill up quickly). Don’t forget to also consider that the place should be comfortable and easily accessible, to avoid mistakes.
Try to also consider the idea of a catering if you have a place large enough to accommodate your guests and you want to take advantage of the possibility of having more choice for the location. It often happens that they are cheaper than many places. The same goes for a cook who comes to your location (home for example) and takes care of preparing the meal (then you will have to think about the distribution of the food). If you have little budget, choose the DIY or try to make local minds about relatives and friends who are passionate about cooking and involve them!
You can give space to the imagination or go to the traditional. By the way, here are some ideas for your favors. A small souvenir for your guests will surely be a welcome thought. The strictly red confetti are a must! If you do not have much budget available simply opt for confetti and personalized dedication. Or you can choose from solidarity favors, books, maps, small craft works, etc. In short, you can give free space to creativity as much as you want, based on your portfolio.
More parties in one
It is not a bad idea to merge into a community celebration with the graduates with whom you are more closely united. A more dynamic party can come out of it and can be a further opportunity to be together. Celebrating together after all the shared efforts will be the best conclusion to a shared journey.
Make it in theme with your party. With little expense you can have a beautiful and impressive cake! Remember to take the time into consideration and order it at least a week before.
Music / activities / games
Consider the idea of also involving a few easy-going friends who play music, theater, games etc. He will have fun and make you feel important and your guests will surely like it!
They depend a lot on the location you choose. You can easily find graduation banners and similar decorations to make your party even more special. A treat: hang a billboard on a wall and leave some post it on which your relatives and friends can leave a series of messages for you. They will be a beautiful memory of this day.
During your graduation discussion and your party they will all have lots of flashes focused on you. Ask friends to get you a real photo book of the event. Some photography enthusiasts and some friends will give you a great memory of this day!
Create a corner with available disguises, a “dedicated” photographer or the chance to take selfies or use a Polaroid to give your friends a moment of fun and an opportunity to take home a souvenir photo of your party.
For the most social, we have a suggestion n.11: invent a hashtag for the party and ask the guests to use it. All photos and content can be tracked and you can cover them all the day after!
And now, the most important advice: HAVE FUN! It’s your party, enjoy it to the fullest.
We trust that these suggestions have been useful to you. We remain at your disposal and relaunch: follow the other tips of the Secret Guide to the Degree Thesis we have written!
